Rationale
This is an IAU Regional Meeting that has been taking place by more than 30 years, and its organization has been reversing among the Latin American Countries, like Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Uruguay and Venezuela, which have a significant active astronomical community. These meetings have promoted important interchanges of students and researchers of these countries, as well as stimulated the growth of astronomy in less scientifically developed Latin American Countries. During the Assembly of LARIM 2010, it was decided that the next meeting will take place in Brazil. We will follow the same organizational practice previously adopted: the chair of the Scientific Organizing Committee (SOC) was indicated by the Brazilian Astronomical Society, as well as the LOC. Each of the participant countries has been asked to indicate one representative for the SOC.
