IAU Scientific Symposia for 2026 Announced

The IAU Symposia are one of the most important means by which the IAU pursues its mission of promoting the science of astronomy through international collaboration. The IAU Symposia aim to significantly advance their fields and explore key questions and emerging concepts through invited talks, contributed talks and posters, and discussion.

Following proposal evaluation and recommendations of the IAU Division Presidents and Vice Presidents, the IAU Executive Committee has discussed and approved the following 2026 Symposia:

The call for Letters of Intent from IAU members for 2027 Symposia will open on 1 August 2025, and will run until 15 September 2025. Please refer to the Rules and Guidelines for IAU Scientific Meetings for more information about the IAU Symposia and how to submit a proposal.
