Dmitrij K. Nadyozhin

Russian Federation

1937-2020

Obituary:

Head scientist at ITEP, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, member of the International Astronomical Union and the European Astronomical Society.

The outstanding results by Dmitrij Nadyozhin on neutrino collapse, self-similar solutions in gas dynamics, on the light curves of supernovae and short GRBs, on the equation of state of an electron-positron gas, his pioneering ideas about super-luminous supernovae being born in double explosions,
the use of SNII-P supernovae in cosmology - will remain in classical annals of astrophysics.

For all colleagues who knew him, he was not only an extraordinary scientist. He was a person, with whom they were very lucky to communicate. He was a person of the broadest interests in various fields, the unique subtlety of the soul and high concepts of personal honesty.
