Obituary:

Isroil Sattarov, a prominent Uzbek astronomer and educator passed away on 22 January 2016 in his house in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. He was born on August 12, 1938 in Bukhara region, Uzbekistan. In 1967, he received his Ph.D. in astrophysics from Leningrad State University, St. Petersburg, Russia, and in 1995, he received a Doctor of Sciences degree from Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics, Irkutsk, Russia. Isroil Sattarov worked as a Senior scientist at Ulugh Beg Astronomical Institute of the Uzbek Academy of Sciences, Tashkent (1969—1981), and as the Head of Solar Physics department (1982—1995). Since 1996, he was a Professor at Tashkent State Pedagogical University, Uzbekistan.
