An ode to astronomy
Past IAU president Ewine van Dishoeck presents the first set of IAU Outreach, Development and Education (ODE) prizes, which were announced in June 2022. The awards were presented during the opening ceremony of the XXXI IAU General Assembly, which took place from 2-11 August in Busan, Korea. From left to right: past IAU president Ewine van Dishoeck, Rosa Doran (winner of the 2022 IAU Education prize), Michèle Gerbaldi (winner of the 2022 IAU Development prize), Robert J. Nemiroff and Jerry T. Bonnell (creators of the Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD) website, which won the 2022 IAU Outreach prize).
