With the IAU and inside the IAU since 1946

In this video, Jean-Claude Pecker (IAU past General Secretary, 1964–1967) talks about some history of astronomy and the IAU, after an introduction by Thierry Montmerle (IAU past General Secretary, 2012–2015). It took place at Ile d'Yeu, Vendée (France) in May 2018 and was shown in absentia at the IAU Symposium 349 (Under One Sky: The IAU Centenary Symposium) during the XXX General Assembly in Vienna, Austria.  Jean-Claude Pecker starts with a short preamble in French (from 3:00 to 5:30), then switches to English.
