Obituary:
Born in 1948 in Pavlovsk near Leningrad (presently Saint Petersburg), Yurij V. Baryshev graduated from Leningrad Electrotechnical Institute. Since 1971, he was working in Astronomical Observatory of Leningrad State University (later Astronomical Institute of Saint Petersburg University and Astronomical Department of Saint Petersburg University). The main fields of his scientific interest were cosmology and relativistic astrophysics. Dr. Baryshev was the author of more than 120 papers and 3 monographies, including: Baryshev Y., Teerikorpi P., Discovery of Сosmic Fractals, WSPC, 2002; Baryshev Y., Teerikorpi P., Fundamental Questions of Practical Cosmology, Springer, 2012.
