Obituary:

The Crimean Astrophysical Observatory RAS regrets to inform that Baranovsky Eduard Alekseevich died on October 18, 2020 at the age of 89, being the PhD in Physics and Mathematics, the leading researcher at the Department of Solar Physics.

Since the early 60s, the life of Eduard Alekseevich has been tightly connected to the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory. He became an indispensable specialist in the field of modeling processes in the solar atmosphere. His results were highly appreciated by A.B. Severny. Up to his last days he actively cooperated with colleagues from CrAO and other observatories. An intelligent, mild-mannered, modest, and very kind-hearted person – he will remain so in our memory.

The staff and administration of CrAO express their deepest condolences to the family and relatives.
