IAU General Assembly in Vienna
Registration for the IAU GA in Vienna (August 20-31 2018) has been opened:
https://astronomy2018.univie.ac.at/programme/
Following a tradition established in 2015, the GA will host, besides Symposia and Focus Meetings, also Division Meetings. These will take place on the Friday of the first week (Aug 24) and Monday of the second week (Aug 27). The Division D Meeting will include both invited and contributed talks and posters.
We would like to invite you to submit abstracts for the Division D Meeting by February 28, 2018 through the above IAU GA official channel. Abstract submission for Division Meetings and for IAUS and FMs is not mutually exclusive, although the scientific organizers will try and avoid duplications, to allow the largest possible number of oral contributions to be scheduled.
AHEAD Announcement of Opportunity Cycle 5
The AHEAD (Integrated Activities for High Energy Astrophysics*) project solicits proposals for its program of transnational visits. This program offers access free-of-cost to some of the best European test and calibration facilities, training/mentoring on X-ray data analysis and visits of scientists/engineers at all expertise levels. Visitor grants include full reimbursement of travel and subsistence expenses.
AO-5 Calls Opening: 20 November 2017
Submission Deadlines:
- Call 1 (Experimental Facilities): 30 June 2018
- Calls 2 and 3 (Data analysis/Science/Engineering): 5 January 2018, 17:00 CET
Three main calls are included in this AO. For further information and links to the three AO-5 Calls: http://ahead.iaps.inaf.it/
Due to EC grant regulations Call 3 (transnational access to data analysis) is open exclusively to visitors with affiliation to an EU or associated country**. Call 1 is continuously open until 30 June 2018 and proposals can be received at any time.
* AHEAD is a Research Infrastructure Program funded by the Horizon 2020 program of the European Union. Its main goal is to integrate and open research infrastructures for high energy Astrophysics. For general information on AHEAD: http://ahead.iaps.inaf.it/
