* IAU General Assembly in Vienna

A reminder that registration for the IAU GA in Vienna (August 20-31 2018) is now open.

https://astronomy2018.univie.ac.at/programme/

Important deadlines:

31/1 - End of early registration

28/2 - End of abstract submission

Please note that those participants who, in addition to an abstract for an oral or poster contribution to the Symposia, Focus Meeting or Division Days, are submitting a request for an IAU travel grant, can benefit from the Early-bird Registration rate irrespective of the result of the grant allocation. They are not requested to pay at the time of the submission, but only after the decision about the grant will be communicated to them by mid April, 2018. Please read the details on the Registration page https://astronomy2018.univie.ac.at/registration/

We would like to draw your attention, for astronomers who are not yet IAU members, to apply to become a Junior or Individual Member: the application procedure is described at the page https://www.iau.org/administration/membership/individual/qualification/

Please note that the deadline for applying through the appropriate National Committee for Astronomy (NCA) is February 2nd, 2018. Please help us in informing your colleagues who are not IAU Members about this possibility and the relevant deadline.

The GA will host, besides  Symposia and Focus Meetings, also Division Meetings. These will take  place on the Friday of the first week (Aug 24) and Monday of the second  week (Aug 27).  The Division D Meeting will include both invited and contributed talks  and posters.

We would like to invite you to submit abstracts for the Division D Meeting by February 28, 2018 through the above IAU GA official channel.  Abstract submission for Division Meetings and for IAUS and FMs is not mutually exclusive, although the scientific organizers will try and avoid duplications, to allow the largest possible number of oral contributions to be scheduled.
